Birmingham, Alabama, 30 October 2008 – Kirchner Private Capital Group, a boutique firm that has been an industry leader in the North American private capital industry for 25 years, is pleased to announce the establishment of Kirchner Cleantech Advisory Group (“Kirchner Cleantech”), an operating group focused on cleantech. Kirchner Cleantech has developed a unique and proprietary lifecycle approach to providing advisory and transaction services to cleantech companies, allowing it to add value from start-up to exit.
Andy Agrawal, the firm’s Managing Partner, commented “for the last 25 years, the group has built relevant and critical skills and expertise in all areas of growth, development and creating exits throughout the lifecycle of small and medium enterprises. During that time we have worked with cleantech companies in a number of areas and believe the timing is ideal to establish a group dedicated to cleantech. Kirchner Cleantech will offer cleantech companies and their investors hands-on services for growth and development as well as advisory services to support M&A and liquidity.”
Kirchner Cleantech has worked with companies in a number of cleantech segments including Energy, Water and Wastewater, Advanced Materials, Transportation, Agriculture, Recycling and Manufacturing and established relationships with top tier investors and strategic parties across the cleantech sector.
Scott Ungerer, a founding partner of EnerTech Capital who has worked with Kirchner for a number of years, stated “Kirchner’s lifecycle approach of adding value throughout the company lifecycle is a natural fit with the cleantech industry which is still young and fast growing. The ability to provide both operational support and create successful exits is a critical element for today’s cleantech investors, particularly in this challenging global economy.” EnerTech Capital has been successfully investing in energy and clean energy technology companies since 1996 and manages three funds totaling $380 million.
Andy Towne, one of the founders of Hobbs & Towne, the leading executive search firm in cleantech commented, “the diversity of experiences and offerings at KPCG are unique to the cleantech industry and complimentary to Hobbs & Towne. We are excited to be a strategic partner with Kirchner and excited about their commitment to strengthening cleantech investments.” Hobbs & Towne, Inc. is an Executive Search Firm founded in 1997 specializing in the recruitment of senior level executives for early stage and high growth technology companies in Alternative Energy and Clean Technology.
