Kirchner Group Appoints Hattie Brown as Managing Director of Impact and ESG
Hattie is an experienced leader in the areas of impact and ESG-factor investment and impact measurement and management strategy, with subject-matter expertise in food and nutrition and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Jacksonville Fl – 21 June 2022 – Kirchner Group, a boutique advisory and asset management firm, today announced Hattie Brown has been appointed Managing Director of Impact and ESG. Based in Washington, DC, Hattie will also co-lead the Kirchner Impact Foundation and act as sub-advisor to Kirchner Asset Management. Hattie first worked with the organization as an investment fellow in 2018-19 with the Kirchner Fellowship program. For the past year, Hattie has developed and led the Impact Foundation’s first investment fellowship program for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Hattie is an experienced leader in the areas of impact and ESG-factor investment and impact measurement and management strategy, with subject-matter expertise in food and nutrition and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prior to joining Kirchner Group, Hattie was a Manager of the Impact Finance practice at Summit Consulting, where she served a range of investment clients in financial underwriting, portfolio management, and impact measurement and management functions. In this role, she led due diligence for the deployment of US $9B to community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and minority depository institutions (MDIs) operating in underbanked communities, supporting low-income individuals, small and minority-owned businesses. Hattie has also served on the Data Foundation’s ESG Working Group, developing guidance related to the SEC’s climate change-related disclosures for investors and recommendations for ESG data collection and reporting.

Earlier in her career, Hattie worked for a Berlin-based impact fund focused on innovation in mental health, where she designed the fund’s strategy for investing in nutrition, with a focus on DEI. Hattie has also worked for MSCI Inc. in the ESG Research practice, where she developed a methodology for investing in nutritious products as part of the Sustainable Impact Index. Hattie holds a Masters of Science in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition and a Masters in International Business from Tufts University.
