– First-of-its-kind Wound Care Industry Event –
Birmingham, Alabama – 6 November 2013 – The Kirchner Group, a leading North American traditional merchant bank and HMP Communications, a leader in healthcare communications and education are pleased to announce the success of the inaugural Business of Wound Care meeting held in Las Vegas this past September.
This one-day program brought together over 75 entrepreneurs, companies and investors in the wound care space. Nine early-stage wound care companies presented to investors as well as wound care industry C-suite executives, business development professionals and marketing personnel during the program. The presenting companies included: SironRX Therapeutics, MobileHealthWare LLC., Leaf Healthcare Inc., Cytomedix Inc., WoundZoom Inc, HealthOne Alliance, MXBioDevices, LLC, Functional Technology, LLC and Kent Imaging, Inc.
“The Kirchner Group was formed because we believed there was a better way to help small and medium sized businesses and the feedback from attendees of this event seems to really validate our model,” stated Bud Kirchner, Founder and CEO of Kirchner Group. “Being able to bring the experience and knowledge of our Health and Life Science group to wound care entrepreneurs and investors in a forum like this is an integral part of what differentiates us from other groups.”
The unique design of the BWC program included sections on: The Future of Wound Care Technology, Public Policy, Investor and CEO Roundtables and Early-Stage Wound Care Company presentations.
HMP Vice President, Group Publisher, Wound Care Division, Jeremy Bowden said, “We are extremely encouraged by the success of our inaugural Business of Wound Care program and based on the overwhelmingly positive response from all the various participants – presenters, investors, CEOs – plan to continue with the second BWC meeting next year. It will again be presented in tandem with the first day of the SAWC Fall meeting in Las Vegas on Thursday, October 16, 2014.” Bowden continued, “Many of my C-Level wound care clients have circled this date on their calendars and will be bringing more of their business development team members to sit in for the early-stage wound care company presentations. We at HMP Communications are selfishly excited to see these unique wound care technologies become commercialized and/or acquired as they are the lifeblood to keeping our industry growing.”
“Since Kirchner Group and HMP launched the Business of Wound Care initiative earlier this year we have been very pleased with the escalating response from entrepreneurs, investors, key opinion leaders and industry. We are especially pleased with the turnout for the conference in Las Vegas, and the overwhelmingly positive evaluations from the audience. One participant commented that they had learned more than any other meeting they had been to in a long time and another that they got great insight into what investors are looking for,” said Patrick McNees, Kirchner Group Managing Partner, Health and Life Science. He went on to say, “Since wound care is one of Kirchner Group’s primary focus areas, we feel our partnership with HMP offers an unprecedented opportunity to meet the needs of both the business and investment communities.”
