Birmingham, Alabama, 06 January, 2016 – Kirchner Group, a leading North American traditional merchant bank, today announced the addition of John D. White to its team. John brings over 40 years of experience as a fund manager and lawyer, primarily in the Energy sector, and will lead the Fund Advisory Services (FAS) program which provides private equity and venture capital firms, as well as family offices and fundless sponsors, with a variety of services.
John brings significant domain and process expertise to Kirchner Group and through this Fund Advisory Services offering will provide clients with the ability to access resources comparable to a much larger fund. FAS clients can improve portfolio company performance through the outsourced operating partner service which includes, operational diagnostic and advisory services, interim management, workout/turnarounds, as well as exit preparation. Clients can also benefit from Kirchner Group’s origination channels which allow funds to leverage an extensive team and network with an experienced perspective on opportunities and a disciplined screening process.
A cornerstone of FAS is the ‘New Diligence’ service which is offered through a joint venture with Strategic Insight Group (SIG) a provider of strategic and tactical intelligence on individuals, entities and situations. Kirchner Group and SIG uniquely combine domain and operational business expertise with thorough intelligence gathering, resulting in the ‘New Diligence’ offering designed to analyze and confirm decisions or limit broken deal costs. Ever more complicated situations present challenges that require investors to go beyond normal due diligence across the investment cycle, whether before, during or after a transaction or on an ongoing, monitoring basis.
“I am excited to join Kirchner Group and lead the Fund Advisory Services program,” commented John. “I believe strongly in the values and culture that Kirchner Group and its seasoned team of professionals represent. I look forward to connecting across multiple networks and explaining the vast value proposition we bring to the table across all of our service offerings.“
Prior to joining Kirchner Group, John has been a Partner in the Southern Funds Group where he oversaw investments in numerous sectors, including energy technologies and services, security and resilience systems for critical infrastructure, food security and agriculture, and industrials. John began his career practicing law in 1973.
“I have known John for many years and look forward to him joining our team. John brings an impressive understanding of the needs of investors and an extensive network of established relationships that will benefit from our services,” added W.B. (Bud) Kirchner, Founder and CEO of Kirchner Group. “I know that there are a number of funds, family offices and fundless sponsors that need the kind of assistance we offer through our Fund Advisory Services. We are providing a cost effective way for these firms to get the resources of a much larger organization from extremely experienced and qualified professionals.”
