Prevention Plus, Owner of the Braden Scale© acquired by HD Nursing Affiliate Health Sense Ai

Jacksonville, FL – April 27, 2021 – Kirchner Group, a boutique advisory, M&A, operational support and asset management firm,  is pleased to announce that they have facilitated an acquisition  by Health Sense Ai, an affiliate of HD Nursing of Prevention Plus, owner of the Braden Scale^©. The acquisition synergistically combines scientific knowledge accumulated and developed over more than three decades, with technology and data analytics.

Over 30 years ago Drs. Barbara Braden and Nancy Bergstrom developed and validated the Braden Scale^©.  Globally, it is the most widely used and validated assessment tool for predicting pressure ulcers/injuries and has expanded to an array of other purposes. It is categorically one of the most recognized brands in healthcare. HD Nursing will become the sole licensor of the Braden Scale^© going forward and will continue to build on the existing framework.  As part of the transaction Dr. Barbara Braden and Dr. Nancy Bergstrom, have joined HD Nursing’s Advisory Board.

During the 1990s Dr. Patrick McNees began working with Drs. Braden and Bergstrom to elaborate their assessment tool to not only assess the level of risk, but also establish the risk profile. Work then began to develop algorithms that would mitigate that risk. During their decades of assistance Kirchner Group leveraged their extensive experience in enterprise development and commercialization of intellectual property as well as their “Ideas to Change” model wherein they specialize in moving creative ideas thru a premeditated process to create genuine positive change.
